Summary of Duties:

As a Relationship Banking and Cash Management Officer in our Branch Banking team, you’ll take a lead role in delivering an outstanding experience to Bank of Ann Arbor customers. Acquire, manage and retain meaningful relationships with our customers, using your financial knowledge to offer thoughtful solutions to help address our client’s financial needs. Open new accounts, accept loan applications and make referrals for other bank products and services. Primary contact for the CDARS/ICS program. Provide client service support to Cash Management clients and specially designated client relationships that require greater attention to detail.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop full client banking relationships by consulting with new and existing bank clients to review and expand their banking relationship using all applicable bank products and services; serves as a primary contact for business clients for enhanced cash management products for all of their banking needs.
  • Provides superior customer service, primarily over the phone or at a client’s place of business
  • Opens new accounts for all personal and business products. Gathers appropriate documentation and seeks approval for contracted services where appropriate.
  • Accepts loan applications for bank line of credit products; including checking account overdraft protection, unsecured lines of credit, installment and home equity loans.
  • Adheres to Customer Information Program (CIP) and OFAC requirements when setting up new account relationships or making changes to existing accounts.
  • Works with account officers in document preparation for CDARS/ICS relationships.
  • Processes CDARS transactions, enters weekly placement orders online, reports transaction totals to accounting and provides clients with weekly statements.
  • Manages daily ICS transactions through daily communications with clients and processes requested transactions.
  • Corresponds directly with Neal Settlement recipients both in person and in writing with prison inmates. Provides information to clients as needed.
  • Receives, reviews and approves mobile banking applications for consumer mobile banking enrollment.
  • Supports Vice President, Cash Management in ensuring customer contracts are properly completed and stored.
  • Responds to client inquiries regarding cash management services that include EasyDeposit, Mobile Banking, ACH, Positive Pay, Lockbox and Execubanc.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.
  • Ability to travel outside the bank.

Experience and Skills:

Position Requirements:

  • 3-5 years banking experience in a client facing position with consumer lending experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to make personal connections, engage and educate customers, ask open-ended questions and listen to establish trust and build lasting relationships.
  • The ability to lead in depth discussions with clients regarding product detail and client options.
  • Professional, thorough and organized with strong follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly build trust and uncover unmentioned financial needs of the client.
  • Knowledge of deposit products and using online resources to determine product match to client needs.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of bank clients and staff.
  • Ability to learn products, services and procedures quickly and accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills - in person and over the phone - with proven ability to tailor features and benefits of products/services to customers with differing needs.
  • Comfortable educating others on technology.
